New project! 78 Bird

well heres the 1978 Trans Am my dad got a couple weeks ago near C-bus. Its pretty rough, but the reasons he got it was for its good interior and T tops and b/c no one has messed with it at all

heres after we got it off the trailor it sat for a bought a week

interior before we did a quick clean up

after the quick clean job

a couple before shots

after we started tearing into it, all the tear down was today btw

more updates to come!!!!!

Any idea on a powerplant? I'd go for a newer LS crate motor swap. I'd do a big turbo LS3.

what's the site? I have a 1979 Z28 and the two rear quarters are all rusted out...literally holes filled with bondo right now. I have searched EVERYWHERE for a two full new quarters, but I can't find anything!

I helped my cousin restore (sheet metal n bodywork) a 69 cougar in similar shape however the floorboards weren't toasted as bad as this one. What a **** ton of work. I can't imagine how much fuking work its going to take to button all that down.. Got any close ups of the underside frame rail? Im betting you will be patching er up. I really hope that car was free. Great project dragger tho. I would sell the interior and just build a drag car. It must smell like an old foot anyway...

use national parts depot or ames performance....year one can suck my dick (half their stuff fits like ****). i have a 1968 firebird that was in worse shape than ur car but damn close so have fun with the build its a big process thats for sure. And a 400 pontiac is a strong engine its what is in my car and im pushing probably low 500's in the hp range.
