No more spray bomb:

Well, now that im taking autobody and learning how to paint cars, I can say good bye to spray bombs for awhile. Got a decent but cheap paint gun, a non HVLP Sharp Fx2000. recleared my taillights, and ill let the pics speak for themselves:

Before:

^last 2 pics are a lil bit older

hard to see, but they had alot of texture, and wernt glassy looking like I wanted and tried so hard to get. looked cleared but had alot of orange peel.

After:

The ***** like a mirror, I love the last pic and my camera in the bottom left corner of it. these pics were taken about 2 hours after they were painted so its not really all that wet, thats what there gonna look like. Also what i like about this is I can wetsand/buff if i want to where spray bomb laquer's never really get hard and never buff glossy, they just dull

ditto, we used to build high end computers, and we usually gave the cases to a local shop to paint and airbrush. i always wanted to learn how to do that type of stuff

Hang on. The gun hooks up to a compressor, right? Where do you get paint from?

ya these guns hook up to a compressor, the one he got was about $90 which is a good price for a starter gun, he won't outgrow it for awhile i bet

the gun i payed a little over 100 for. its a good gun. No $600 Sata, but as long as you take care of it, you see the results. sprays perfect.
Got the paint from Carquest, and the gun hooks up to a compressor, I have a PSI gauge and a Oil/water seperator on it so i dont fisheye the paint from contaminents in the air.

Difference b/w spray bomb and this, is that real paint you have to buy in quarts/gallons and have the right equiptment like mixing sticks, and measuring cups, and paint paddles, and strainers. nothing expensive, but a quart of clear, hardner, and that pressure regulator together was 60 bucks. but i used about 10% of the quart of clear. so i can still do another like 8 sets of lights. Im gonna buy some black so i can just add it to the clear to make my own nightshades so i never have to buy it and i can tint cars locally and make a few bucks. and itll also look 10x better. just mix a little bit of clear, add a tiny bit of black, add your hardener. boom
