Though I would try for more lighting when getting the flower shots, and its actually a somewhat sad photo...One lone flower all alone, the first shot has lots of shadows on the left side, the 2nd shot looks better imo.
But hey..I mainly just take photos of my coin collection lol

This is nearly worth 50% of a 09 Cobalt SS

Need to get this set out of the bank so I can get some close-ups now that I have a finally figured out a good lighting/work bench for shooting the images.

This was "awesome photo"
This is underexpose and lacks contrast!
Explain?
notice the histogram.. it is under exposed and there is no blacks in it at all... but now that i look at it again it is alittle soft...

I never said the photo had bad timing or anything it was a great shot.. many of the plane shots are nicely timed.. just underexposed... and lack contrast.
Ok not to start another argument but this is my point illuminated PERFECTLY. Yes..the shot COULD be better...but you offer NO INSIGHT as to HOW!!!!

Ok so according to the histogram it is underexposed....Histograms and proper exposure don't make great photos, but that is a discussion for another time.
Instead of showing a lightroom histogram...offer the guy some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I couldn't see the EXIF data but if we asked the OP im sure he/she could provide it. How about you explain that he should experiment with a higher ISO or a larger aperture next time.
Ok so it lacks a little contrast....You know it is a grey plane.....against a....grey.....sky.... But we can't change that...so why not offer the OP some advice on how to add some contrast during post proccessing, or ask if he shoots in raw or jpeg so we know what is going on with the shot.
Ok maybe it is a little soft....again....advice? None given...just (IMHO) an arrogant response.
Next time try a faster shutter speed, but since the *histogram* already decided it was underexposed that isnt really an option....
How about trying a monopod next time so you could steady yourself while panning and following the plane....You know it WAS travelling about 760mph when the shot was taken. All things considered it is still a good shot for an amateur.
Just offer something other than an opinion....even if it isnt always correct. It comes across less high-and-mighty.

oh good god guys.

there is a very quick edit of the one plane photograph.
when it is overcated if you have not adjusted your saturation and you have modified your exposure correctly you will get an underexposed and desaturated image.
You can easily fix it with a curve/levels adjustment and a vibrance/saturation adujustment.
If you are ever taking pictures with an overcast in the background or if its pretty dreary looking out you typically have to bump the saturation in the camera or adjust that after words.
Please calm down people if you do not want constructive criticism then when you post your pictures just let people know that is perfectly fine. If you dont then we expect you can take criticism in the right way.

image increased to 300dpi bicubic smooth > expanded to 32bit > local adaptation adjustment to 16bit > curves and shadow adjustment > reduce noise > smart sharpen > image size rounded down to 100dpi bicubic sharp > convert to 8bit
you can't really judge an image by the histogram it's simply a tool that allows you to see where adjustment can or should be made and shows if clipping has occurred.
