Oni, the smiley you did is pretty neat. I've tried to do that but I haven't been able to come close to making it really neat like that.

use a flashlight and try drawing on the wall with the light so you know where you are in the image

light, much of what high school teachers want to see is how you used light to create something fantastic from something so normal. Also the rule of thirds will set you apart from a snap shot photo buff to a person with a good eye for composition but don't let it dictate everything you do there are perfectly good reasons to break the rule sometimes.

Nice shots JDM

Some shots of my brother Eric (blue helmet), Andrew (green bike), and Patrick (white shin gards and black helment) freeriding down in Eureka, MO this past weekend.

A little new addition, posted from the drum forum I'm on:

So I sent PJ at Medicine Man Drums (aka The Exorcist, due to getting rid of this drum's demons lol) my 6.5x13" OCDP vented snare drum to get a total and complete refurbishment. After waiting for the hardware shortage, it was all worth it. Plays, sounds, and looks so much better than it ever did before. Screw OCDP, MM is 1000x better for a fraction of the price plus PJ is an incredible guy.

Here are some before and after pictures.

Before:

(left is the OCDP, middle is the DW acoustic EQ, right is the DW black brass)

Annnnnd after:

And a "studio" shot....

Thought I would post in here that shortly I will be picking up a 40D . I will most likely have the 17-40mm f/4L and the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS.

some good stuff there, my only note is that it seems your allowing your right hand to stabilize the camera more instead of both hands as some of the images seem to have an unbalanced horizon not referring to the intentional shots. Try allowing your left hand to help a bit more so it fixes the horizons more naturally so you won't have the resort to using photo editing to fix it but good shots I like the cat

Nice! I love my 50D. I also love my 17-40L, but will probably upgrade to the 16-35 in the future due to the 2.8 and me wanting it for studio shots for a friend. Although I do have to get the 70-200 2.8 IS in the future, it's a great lens (I'm happy with my 24-70L for now though )

I really want the 16-35 lens but my budget doesn't call for it....my budget may not even call for the 70-200 2.8 IS lens.

thanks for the pointers friend! i always welcome c&c. ill be sure to use both hands next time. i actually need to use my tripod more but its getting old and it needs to be replaced so it usually stays in the trunk.

Hey does anyone have a sample service contract or a personal contract I can use as a template? I need one here soon cus I just got a gig lined up and it will be for the end of the month. This one just came up all of a sudden and I wasn't expecting to need a contract written up until next month so now I need one by at least this weekend. I have searched online but most of the ones I have found don't really apply to photography.
