Look at the picture, VS the white of the forum page. It is not the same white.

do you have a monitor that is calibrated? Just wondering. On my calibrated monitor it is plain black and white..

btw your waterfall shots look good.. color is nice and balanced

nice... i would say that the diffused light from it being cloudy definatly helped. some things to remember though. just make sure you get some nice clean reflections in the car. Your last shots have no clean reflections. Another thing is to watch your exposure.

#1 is a tad underexposed while #3 is a little over exposed.

1 & 2 dont do anything for me sadly.

#5 is the strongest of the bunch though...

My monitor is calibrated. I think everyone is misunderstanding what I am saying. I know the photo isn't blue like a color photo with an improper white balance.

You know that there are like....a BILLION different methods to convert to B&W right? A LOT of the conversion methods cause an effect that is a lot like your #2 picture. It doesn't mean it is a problem with the picture, I just don't prefer whatever method you used to convert to B&W.

FWIW I find that with my style of shooting, the Gorman-Holbert conversion works best.

What method(s) did you use to convert the 1st two shots?

Oh yeah....and thanks for the waterfall comments.

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought of the reflections when I uploaded them onto my macbook... which was a little late lol.

Still learning the camera which is a fun experience. This is the second time I shot my car with this camera so I'm thinking I will get better at this. I am planning on going to a photography class with my g/f to learn more about slr's and getting the most out of them.

Here is his quote:
I like the first conversion better, the 2nd has too much of a blue hue for me.
The first one was the one iwth the golden color... the second is the other bw one..

p352638380-4 is image number 2 thats the one that is over saturated in the image screenshot as shown in the title bar where is says adobe photoshop cs3.

I just wanna be sure his monitor is set right so images dont seem too blue.

I understand what the color blue is, and my monitor has been calibrated.

Ill find the name of the effect I am talking about, I can't think of it at the moment.

In the mean time, chill out with the one man argument. You are only proving yourself right...to yourself.

moving along has anyone tried these? http://www.adorama.com/FPRRS8.html ... they don't have 32 channels like the pocket wizards but if they get the job done.

They all look good, its too bad about the fence in #4 and #5. But that isn't really your fault, I just think it detracts from the picture.

nice pictures!
although the one with the guns seems a tad cluttered because of the background. i would try to atleast clone out that random letter on the left side looks outta place.

hmm good call... Honestly I love the gun one because of the framing but you are right about me having to clone the one letter.

sick06cobalt (David Welker) just want to let you know I'm a huge fan after seeing your pics. I just got into photography, got me a D90 last friday. You inspire me to get out there and start taking pics. I have a lot of work to do, maybe one day I'll post some pics up here (all the ones in my gallery are not with a D90 btw)

Thanks bud. Honestly I have improved because I have been taking photos. So keep at it and you will soon be getting better and better. Dont be afraid to send me a pm or email and ask me for an opinion. but thanks again bud.

oh and just remember its not the camera that makes the photos its the photographer.
