Pics of some drag cars from the LSx shootout/World finals

I didnt get any racing pics , I shot vids of all those and none of them came out . Soooo time for a new camera .

Heres some pics I took in the pits though . There were just too many cars there to get them all , so these are basically my favs . I will make a separate thread for the street cars , there were some awesome ones .

This TA ran in true street and drag radial . In true street this guy made the 30 mile cruz , then clicked off 3 back to back 8 sec runs . 8.teens on the 17's up front in drag radial class This car was SICK , and Cobalt Lazer blue The Ohio boys were kickin ass .

Pretty badass NMCA super street car . He wasnt newhere near the fastest , but he did make it a few rounds with his high 7 sec 380 cube turbo'ed smallblock .

This Vortec extreme street 3rd gen was awesome

Tommy Kempf crashed this car tuesday , bad enuff to push the shock tower over . They thrashed and rebuilt the car , and were back running 7's by friday . This car sounds like a jet going down the track . Running mostly 7.80's all weekend .

Heres the guy Tom Kempf got in the finals . This vette is crazy , running a rear mounted 106 mm snail and running high 7's . All the Vettes made a impressive showing .

random engine shot

Shot of Turleys engine . He was the fastest in the 7's all weekend . He blew it up in the semi's though

Heres Spiro Pappas's Super Street car . No words to describe . High RPM turbocharged big block . It sounded like a NHRA prostock with a jet engine attached Ran 7.0's and 6.9's @ 203-209 mph on a 10.5w tires .

Dont remember what the Nova ran , but it was a sweet ass car .

Here are true street cars lined up for the 30 mile cruise thru memphis , this is honestly only about 1/2 of them . The line went on forever .

Overall , I was pretty impressed and at the same time let down with the LSx shootout . I though this might just draw a Mustang NMRA type car count .....but most of the heavy LS1 hitters are still just not showing up for these races . I do know of several that just werent done yet though , so maybe next year . Neways , it was a the most fun Ive had all year . I cant believe I drove from South Bend Indiana to Memphis TN and saw a total of only 1 Cobalt SS , which was Arrival Blue one at the track in TN ...damn .

Exactly, some crazy stuff. This pic here gives me an idea for the cobalt guys...put a turbo in the fog light spot and remove the light....

I bet he was at the test and tune night that I went to. When he did his burn out it just sounded like a normal big block but when he staged it sounded like an airplane! Let me know next year cause that would be fun.
