Flew myself into Boca Raton yesterday to check out my buddy's new M3. Just got it 4 days ago, hes now got 300 miles on it. Not a bad car to have at 20 years old...

He was being gentle on it til we came, but we had to see it what it could do. It was just so addictive to get on the gas, and it handled like it was on rails. Did I mention the interior was orgasmic? And it sounded even better?

Keep in mind the car has 4 guys weight 700lbs total in it... and I was filming half the time, so ignore some of the shoddy work and the blurry speedo. Pretty crappy video, but ah well...

Bring on the lovers and the haters and the '**** you, dont mess around in the street' comments...

It was fast. I think it's just a mix of it having 700lbs in it, a brand new non broken-in engine, and a crappy driver in the video.

wow ppl always think nice cars are gifts from mommy and daddy.... my friend is 21 with a nice bmw m3 paid for by himself some 20+ yr olds make alot of money if i really wanted to i could buy a m3 and make payments on it...... so what.

If you do, no offense but if you are able make the payment on an 09 M3 and you live with mommy, what you just wrote is very funny to me.

Whether mom gave it to you or you're making a decent salary and buying sports cars instead of getting you own place, to me it's all the same.

 

TRUTH...man i had this car at 20...but i was living in my own place in TX while everyone in my family was on either coast.
Eat ramen noodles for a week or buy a tank of methanol and a pulley...hmm i remember those decisions.

 

Sweet. Those are nice cars. And nothing wrong with autos! I prefer them in fast cars.

 

no i dont live with my mom. i'm not saying i could make the payments and still have all this extra cash in my pockets but i could do it. its just annoys me when ppl say that mommy and daddy must of bought u that car... cuz i heard it all the time because my first car while i was in high school was actually a nice 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited cost me 9,000 but i bought it cuz i was saving every penny i could because i didnt wanna drive around in a **** box. and all the time i heard that wow nice gift from mommy and daddy and i always have to tell them to **** off i paid for it. so it bugs me when ppl say that.

Kind of painful to watch him abuse the car on break in like that, but it is his car and he can do what he wishes.

But I do love the M3's....I have a blast with mine

They run high 12's / low 13's and trap around 112mph in the 1/4....quick cars, but by no means a rocket...from a roll, my tune only SS/TC hangs neck and neck with one all the way past 120mph...the M5's however pull away with a bit more authority thanks to the extra 2 cylinders and liter of displacement...

My complaint with the new BMW M3's is that they put on way too much weight...they tip the scales at over 3700lbs which is just absurd for a car like that...the M5 only weighs 200lbs more....in doing so, they have lost a lot of the thrill of the E39 and E46's M3's had.

Thankfully, they will be going back to a lighter version next time around.
