a short throw shifter doesnt necessarily have to "look" shorter...
its the THROW of the shifter that is shortened....not necessarily the shaft length.
which is why you cant just pull apart your stocker, and take a hacksaw to it to shorten it up....and call it a "short throw shifter"
lol

No, I understand that completely. I just thought that the shaft was shorter as well. A few buddies of mine have short shifters, and they're really short. I hadn't looked at many pics on this site of short shifters, but I did notice that some people install a short shifter and then chop the shaft even more to shorten it. Was it you an0malous?

nah I just put in a hurst last week.
but your right. most of the time the shaft is somewhat shorter....
but shortening the shaft is reducing the leverage that you have to make the shift.
you can only shorten so far before you have to gorilla grip it to make a shift.

BlackyK and KillerBee, the install is not hard at all. Takes an hour tops if you do it all right. I could probably do it in 30-45 min now that I've done it once. If anybody in my vicinity ever plans on doing this and wants help, I'll be glad to lend a hand...
