Some Eye Candy

Finally almost done! I have been building my Galant VR4 for the past 3 years now and I'm reaching the dead line...hopefully spring.

Rolling chassis is complete and is awaiting this:

BLOCK
2.0L 4G63T
.20 over Manley Pistons ceramic and teflon coated
Eagle rods oil resistant coated
FFWDconnection Butcher Crank oil resistant coated
Pro-gram billet main caps
Race bearings all oil resistant coated
Brand new OEM front case, oil pump, timing components...
Balance shaft elimination kit
Oil Squirters blocked off
SCE Titan copper headgasket with built in o-rings
ARP L19 head studs
Fluidamper crank pulley
JayRacing Alt relocation
Ebay oil pan...tried to save money, will never do that again. A lot of modifying for proper fitment, but it worked
Welded -16 AN fittings on water pump and T-stat housing
Every single bolt is brand new from Mitsu

HEAD
One-off AMS ported head that I am not supposed to tell anyone about!
BC valvetrain: springs and retainers, oversized valves, bronze valve guides, low-boy valve seals ect.....
HKS cam gears and Timing belt
BC Cams 288/288 combo Lump...lump...lumpidy...lump...lump!!!
All assembly done by AMS Performance
And no, thats not the valve cover I will be using...just there to protect the valvetrain

Might as well through this one in as well. My turbo-back for the balt that I had made and it's just sitting there. I had it on one for a day and took it off to get ceramic coated but never got around to it. It's a 3" straight pipe no cat. Yes its loud, yes it sounds sick. Don't hate...haters!

Why JMF over magnus for the SMIM? And why AEM EMS over DSMLink(do they not work for galant vr4's)?

Magnus is just a popular name. Don't get me wrong, they are great SHIM's and they make awesome products but I opted for JMF. They have proven huge gains and I believe they're fabrication skills are one of the best out there. Plus I got a HUGE discount on both manifolds.

As for EMS...personal preference. DSM link is great, I just don't want it. If I could make it work, I would use an EVO VIII ECU. You would be surprised how much **** can be done with that computer. It's almost identical to EMS.

And as for pics of the car, I actually never snapped photos of her. But I wouldnt post pics anyway because I'm OCD and its not perfect yet. Id rather post pics of it near complete. Sorry.

Shell is 90% done. Completely re-built 4 bolt rear and powder-coated subframe modded to fit 17 x 9.5 wheels. Whiteline rear sway bar. ARP extended studs. Rhino lined undercarrige, and engine bay and is semi-shaved. Powder coated front subframe with prothane subframe bushings. New control arms. D2 coilovers. TCE 13" big brake kit. Wire tucked...the list goes on. All I need is a cage which its going for in December.

Only reason I asked was because I lent a hand in building a 2g, and something about the velocity stacks in the Magnus won. Originally was going for JMF, but Magnus provided a great deal with thermal heat barrier gasket.

Last I heard someone was making progress on using those evo ecu's with old 4g63 dsm? Anything ever happen with that?

Last I heard, Magnus was having a problem with there velocity stack design and poor craftsmanship(cracked welds) And to be honest, when I saw one of their manifolds in person, it didnt impress me. Was a lot smaller than I expected, granted bigger is not always better, but in this case it is! And I will be using one of their heat barrier gaskets.

I couldnt tell you. That would be interesting to research and find out...but what it comes down to is simplicity factor. If it takes a lot of time and money depending on what you have to do with the ecu/harness, why not just get a plug n play EMS???

Haha...just a talon wheel I had laying around and I had left over spray paint. I was going to get a piece of glass and make a table out of it. Whats wrong with purple? It's a sick nasty color, in fact all my turbo accessories are going to be purple...Tial BOV and wastegates and Wiggens pipe clamps!!!
