thats what happened to mine aswell, thats why im never going back to newera
did the dipstick pop out?
i didnt get a chance to look, bye bye piston #2 and probably #4, i was tuned the same way, way to much heat... time for a tear down, well atleast your made it longer than mine did

yes it did. and where else would we go to get tuned? i dont think what dan did was smart lol when he kept jumping on it like that.. its only like 25 degrees outside. now i know why people say to get a winter tune lol.. its alright dan, we'll be helping you put it back together!

hopefully dan didnt do any head damage, and it just melted the piston or piston(s), time for turbo

as far as i know, thats basically what happens in our cars when they blow up.. its mostly always #4.. either its starved for fuel or i think in dans case, i know his dipstick popped and oil was everywhere so im guessing #4 was starved of oil and just got too hot and thats that..

Blowby cause by failed piston rings would make it happen too...
The compression test and leakdown are a great place to start. You can also blow your dipstick sometimes if you floor it when the engine is cold because the rings are not properly sealed.
The dipstick popping doesnt always mean blown, mine did that and it was the intake mani gasket
the steel sleeves in our car hold heat and dont cool down very fast
each cylinder should be within 15% of each other
has anyone from buffalo talked to dan, i havent inalong time, when did this happen?

you mean to get fixed? im pretty sure hes going to use his uncles shop and we're gonna help him fix it.. and hes pretty sure it was number 4.. it wouldnt start and then he finally got it to start and it sounded like a wrx.. so im hoping its something else but it doesnt look to promising

Were you running it hard on your summer tune (2.9 on 42.5's aswell) in freezing weather?
