SS vs. Focus RS8

lol yea right, the SS would get completely annihilated But on a serious note, here is the video of the V8 Focus that Ford built at a Focus meet. That is one of the sweetest sounding engines! Now we need to make our cobalt's sound like this!

Production.....never.

There are actually kits you can buy to convert any Focus to a V8. I think you just need the Focus, $10,000 plus for the conversion kit, and the Mustang V8 and tranny to put into it.
It is a nice car just because it is very rare but that is about it.

That is a seriously hot car, I think it'd be neat to see a LS2 powered cobalt, but, The Focus has one advantage w/ the V8, It's already got a Shaft tunnel going backwards, Because in Europe, The Focus is a All Wheel Drive car.

You can buy the conversion kit from ford racing. Pretty cool the factory itself sells the kit. It's like 20k though.

There wasn't an SHO motor in a focus..... That thing wouldn't fit, also it wouldn't bolt up like the Duratecs would.

Yes there has, search around more on FJ and you will see.

there was one rear mounted v8 SHO Focus and a front mounted v6 SHO Focus. Of course its not a bolt on, neither is the 351...it takes alot of work as well and thats why its only been done a couple times. And they were both done by shops if I recall...

I still own a zetec Ford Contour and am on CEG, NECO, FJ and all that crap...I know about these things.

I am on neco! my username there is mercurycougar. I don't understand why somebody would go through the trouble of putting the SHO v6 in those cars when it would require soooooooooo much work when they could drop an svt duratec and get the same numbers with the same wiring.

yea, the SVT 2.5 was in the original concept SVT Focus. They canned it due to high cost of crash testing, emissions testing, etc. So they opted to just build up the Zetec instead.

For the record I was the passenger in the RS8 who recorded that.

SHO engine can be done actually but man is it tight.

And the second you hooked the NOS up it voided the warranty. Neat little bit of info they leave out.

i couldve sworn the rs8 focus had a svt cobra motor. that SHO must be a different focus, cause it has a v6.
