Vacuum Formed Retrofitting *New Pics Page 2*

I recently built (as in a few hours ago ) a vacuum forming setup. I used some high density polystyrene from a local shop and the outcome was better than I expected. It's pretty similar to what IZN TRBL does with his retrofits for the shroud area. This is FAR from complete though. It's going to look 10x better and I've got some good ideas for this set. The owner is letting me get pretty creative

And yes, the turn signal covers are frosted and tinted slightly... should look better once the oem bezel is painted black.

This machine is going to come in very handy when I go to complete my quad retrofit... should be able to skip fiberglassing for the bezel I hope!

holy crap, this was going to be an upcoming project for me. PLEASE do some carbon fiber so I can see what it'll look like!!

BTW, you need to get the quad projectors done ASAP. I have a set of RX's here, will be picking up some FX's soon, and will be looking at doing a quad setup potentially. I'll need something to go by!

Oh, any pics of the vacuum form setup?

@yobrigidey - I'm trying to chip away at the quad retrofit... waiting for some new shrouds, then should be able to vacuum form a bezel for them... should look good. If you need any help, feel free to PM me. I'll try and get some pics of the setup later.

@IonNinja - this is the guide I went by for my first machine: http://www.instructables.com/id/Make...-plastic-vacu/

This is the self contained unit I'm going to build: http://www.instructables.com/id/Vacuum-Former-2/

Sweet, got my new shrouds in today! I now have E55 for the bi-xenons and a set of CLK for the halogen projectors... they are similar in finish and will look so good when done!

Here are the shrouds I'm using:

Jeff, sending you a PM now...

Here is one of the finished headlights. Should look pretty sweet once on the customer's car, which is black.

thanks everyone

will - I couldn't find a decent set of yellow ones, so I made some using the larger halos from the 1st gen eBay projectors and some yellow LEDs. I think they were like 105mm OD and like 95mm ID.
