XTC CAI installed
XTC CAI installed
Mods feel free to move this if it is in the wrong section. I'm still getting used to the forums here.
Got my XTC CAI intake from Cobalt Addiction in yesterday
. Installation was a bit of a bitch, but I’m sure most intakes are a pain to install on our cars. There just isn’t a lot of room in that area. But shipping was fairly quick, and I absolutely love how the SC sounds now. I think I scared the **** out of my girl when I first stomped on it and she heard the SC start screaming. That I like for sure.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, so far I haven't seen a CEL yet
. And I've got about 2 hours driving in after the install.
Stock airbox after pulling all of the retaining screws and clips in the splashguard. You’ll need a 7mm socket and some patience here. There are like 10 or so screws and a few clips holding this piece in place.

Airbox removed. Just three 10mm nuts and the MAF sensor attach the airbox.

More restrictive stock tubing.

Naked Blower

At about this point it’s time for a nice cold one

My only complaint is that there were no directions included. And they don’t tell you, you’re basically doing the airbox mod here. Notice the hole you must drill in order to tighten the clamp that holds the filter in.

Not major complaints, but I can def. see some people having a tough time with this install, between the lack of directions, tight fit of the charge tubes, and the fact that you have to put a hole in your stock airbox.
Modified airbox re-installed in fender well

Close up shots of the Intake

I think the intake looks awesome next to the ShowMeCustoms pieces. The strut bar should tie everything together nicely.

Thanks for looking everyone, and even though the installation was more of a pain than I expected, I would still recommend this piece from Cobalt Addiction

i feel violated!
they used my idea with no thanks!
we have had the intake out for a while, just not many people know about it.
i will talk to ken about doing a write up on installation on it as i can understand having no directions could be a PITA. (meaning directions for install to be included with purchase) Thanks for the write up.

And NO CEL so far. I can't believe I forgot to mention that, lol. I probably drove her for about an hour and half total last night, and then to work this morning. So far so good.
