I have a Cobalt, my fiance just purchased a G5 GT, what parts from the Cobalts work ont he G5s?
Looking at them without measuring etc..
seems the Hoods would interswap? Would the Cobalt sedan trunk, swap onto the G5?
Mainly asking cause she wants carbon fiber hood and trunk lid.....

How about the Sedan taillights used on the G5 also?

 

yea just about any and everything will match up i own a g5 and almost everything i have bought has been for a cobalt even the the tail lights from the 4door cobalt match up to my 2door g5

 

Everything will. It is the exact same car. There are some styling differences in the front and rear bumeprs, but they will bolt up to the car. Most of the part numbers on the car are the same too according to my estimating software.

I am right, the sedan trunk does not fit neither do the tailights, but the coupe trunks are interchangable. The hoods are the same and so are the headlights.

 

Isn't it the other way around? The G5 and Cobalt sedans have the same trunks (they are angled, as are the lights, which are also interchangable) but the G5 coupe trunk is straight (and the lights are straight as well) and the Cobalt coupe trunk has the round lights.... please correct me if I am wrong, but almost certain over here.

 

cobalt coupes and g5 coupes have the same shape trunk too but g5's don't have the two extra lights.

cobalt and g5 sedan trunks are the same too

 

yea coupes can switch with coupes and sedans can switch with sedans

If the coupe trunks interchange that sucks cause the cobalt has round lights, while the pontic doesnt have them......I thought the sedan might interchange since it has no lights in it

 

if you wanted to switch taillights, you would have to switch the rear fascia too
So to get cobalt taillights on a g5 you would need the cobalt trunk, rear fascia, and taillights.. and probly some other little random things

also coupe for coupe.. and sedan for sedan.. both g5 and cobalt sedans are different from the coupes in the shape of the trunk.

 

Sedan tails are bigger, they do not fit. The sedan trunk is smaller too, it also wont fit. Basically anything from the rear bumper foward is interchangeable.

 

try swaping it out if it dont then it dont if it does then it does

 

How about swapping just the trunk.... the G5 would look like an IS300 then...

i know this, they are close and with some body shop work u "could" make them work but not a direct bolt on. TAKE UR MEASUREMENTS BEFORE POSTING save all of us the confusion

Have you tried to personally fit a G5 coupe trunk on a cobalt coupe?I doubt it and guess what? people on here have and it worked, with no body modification

Having a hard time finding the photos, but Im still looking so have no fear ill find them So how have you come to the conclusion that it isnt feasable? Have you tried to do the swap yourself? I ask that again becuase you did a good job avoiding that question in my first post. Have you looked at the two trunks side by side lately they are the same. You make me laugh, calling me a noob and you havent even tried the swap yourself give me a break man.
