05 SS f35 no gears; shifter roll pin??

last week my short shifter had an issue where id have to push further to engage 1st 3rd 5th and it carried through til this week. yesterday about to get on the highway suddenly no gears were engaging and i was forced to pull over. had to call a buddy for tools but noticed the shifter cable pivot cup clip had come popped off the threaded plastic part on the shift cable. i went to click it back on but by hand was impossible so used plyers. eventually got it to close and had gear engagement but not all gears felt right. we played with the adjustment more and eventually got it in a good spot but felt readjusting was a good idea - wrong. now theres no gear engagement. fourth seems like its going on but letting out the clutch doesnt engage the gear. ive seen alot of posts on the shifter roll pin does this sound like my issue? appreciate feedback
