05 ss/sc xtra whine/whistle
started to get a really loud whine/whistle while driving home yesterday. When the car is at idle its pretty rough too. Sounds like it may be coming form the cat/dp area. I haven't been able to look under the car yet just the hood, everything looks good there. Should have access to jack/tools later on today to take a better look.

Were you able to figure anything out, ProJecTX? If I can be of any assistance (looking into warranty/recall information on your vehicle or assisting in the process of working with a dealership), please let me know.

thanks everyone, I was told a bearing is shot in the super charger which caused rubbing and the sound you hear in the video. They recommended replacing the charger and a couple exhaust gaskets (odd they went out the same time?). The shop quoted the job at about $2400 for parts and labor (3rd party shop). For something like this i'd rather go through a dealer or somewhere that deals with f/i type cars, so waiting for a quote from Chevy.
Additional info not provided in the first post. There's white smoke coming out the exhaust and metal shaving on the exhaust tip (can't be good). Oddly enough no codes are being thrown.
Which brings up a couple concerns that there may be further damage to the engine but won't know unless it's taken further apart ($$$ or attempt it myself). The shop did mention no misfires or anything they can tell wrong with the engine at this point.
so too gamble or not? fix and sell it quick? any suggestions? i don't have direct access to the car right now but i'll attempt some of the ideas provided. Curious to know for myself but cautions about running the engine at this point.
thx

Fixing a super charger isn't that bad but the issue of the metal fragments coming out the tailpipe are not good at all. Sounds like this isn't something that just started to happen because you can hear when there is no oil or a bearing is starting to go in the supercharger. If you can get rid of the car atm the better. Look for a used supercharger and call it a day. I will have one available in the next 3-4 weeks if you are interested in it.
