06 LSJ P0171 and Reduced Engine Power

Hey guys. The girlfriend's LSJ is throwing P0171 and going into reduced power mode whenever it goes above like half throttle. I pulled the intake piping off the TB and water ran out of the low point in the piping, pulled the filter and the MAF and both were soaked. I cleaned and dried them both. I found that her airbox had been busted open (by a recent meeting with a guardrail). I was able to clear the code and drive the car, but as soon as I revved it past 3K or gave it more than half throttle while driving, it would die and the CEL would come back on, same code.

Now, I'm thinking it could be one or all of a few things. We have had some major downpours the last few days and some flooding. That meeting with the guardrail busted the airbox open and the fender also, leaving a gap right above the intake suction. Maybe the torrential rain ran down into the box. She did hit a flooded portion of the road, going slow. And the car was fine afterward.

Any ideas?

P.S. PLEASE help me figure this out so I don't have to let her drive my SSTC to work while I try to find a ride

Bump, please anyone...

I have found that there was a TSB regarding that DTC...but from what i understand, it wasn't involving the LSJ...?

How could this TSB come out so long ago and the car conveniently decides to **** up? Maybe its mad at her because she's looking into trading for a new Scion tC...

Wow. I'm kinda disappointed that no one chimed in on this one. Well, I'll turn this into a little lesson for those to come...don't run through puddles with a cai-style stock intake. You'll suck up water, ruining your air filter and causing your MAF to go nuts.

I ended up pulling the filter and the MAF. I trashed the filter and cleaned and dried the MAF. All is well.
