08 cobalt sport cruise control not engaging

Here's the story. Tried using me cruise control and nothing did some research on here tried disconnecting the battery that didn't work. Tried pulling back the clutch pedal and brake pedal to see if the switchs and that didnt work. Could it have anything to do with traction control? I think its not working right I can hear clicking periodically after shifts. It flashes low traction but it hasnt stopped the slippage under decent accleration. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

check to see if any of the lights in your third brake light are out. its usually the middle one. replace it, and it should work.

I just replaced all the third brake lights to led bulbs. Could that be the reason for the cruise to stop working?

Does the LED strip or bulbs have built in resistors, because if not then that's the issue.

Yes thats the issue. Get resistors or leave your center light the stock halogen and it will function normally.

I didn't see any built in resistors Im try replacing the center bulb with a regular bulb and see if that stops the issue

Ok I put that regular bulb back in the center and my cruise works again. What size resistor would I want to use on the led bulb to not have this problem again ?

Is the third brake assembly the horizontal strip of lights that goes across the top of the trunk? I have this issue too.. but it seems rather random and intermittent. Sometimes cruise control works...some times it doesn't lol.

Yes it is. Try changing the center bulb on it. Maybe check some of the wiring going to the third brake light housing. Could be that.
