2.0 ss/sc Problem
2.0 ss/sc Problem
This is my first post on here guys. I could really use some input. I've had my cobalt for about a year it has 20k on it. Never had any major problems until now. When I am driving I put the car in 3rd or 4th gear I let the clutch out everything feels fine. I give it some gas and the rpms go up but they drop back about a 1000 rpm and then it feels like it catches then goes. It feels like a clutch slipping or something but its only after I shift and let the clutch all the way out. Only does this under hard acceleration. DOesn't feel like its losing power just like its not fully engaged. any ideas?

clutch slipping
ya mine does this too sometimes i found if i dump it or accel real fast it will rev right up and not be pulling well untill you let off and wait but then u have to gear down anyways and you can smell the clutch burning. was wondering if it is supposed to do this for some reason to save some wear and tear or to slow down street racing... ?????? but who rele knows id did it more when it was newer now it wont do it to me too often unless i rele push it but o well. mine is an 07 ss/sc and has just under 9500 km
The both of you are experiencing clutch slip, and if the damage isn't done already it WILL be very soon.
Adjust your driving style accordingly to save you some extra wear and time. Keep making the clutch slip and your in for a new one sooner than you expect.

it will be a 1000 dollar fix at the gm dealer ship. ur clutch WILL go out some time soon. better fix it now then getting ur car stuck on a road w/ no clutch. had the same problem. but for some reason it was under warranty when i totally fried my clutch. i got lucky.
If youve drove through a lot of wheel hop than you could have cracked your tranny and the oil is seeping on the clutch.
But try the shifting above three grand to see if the problem goes away.

Exactly. Take it to the dealership and have it looked at. If you see white smoke coming out from the car, better get it to the dealership soon. Happened to me. Around a 2k fix job jic you guys did get some wheel hop.
