Angry 2.0L problems please help!!!

Hey everyone, i just got this car its a 06 cobalt ss/sc, completely stock. Anyway after letting my girlfriend drive it, and her stalling twice with a lot of jumping and hoping, I started to hear this noise when I go to start the car. It only lasts a few seconds and it is coming from behind the glove box, kinda a loud thumping/ticking.

I recorded the sound with my cell phone, its not of great quality, and its completely dark but it gives you an idea of the sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I don't think it has anything to do with the starter, but I dunno it only makes the sound about half the times i start the car, and it starts up just fine. Doesn't seem to make a difference whether it's been running for a while or not. Just a random thing.

LOL NO COMMENT ON THAT ONE LOL!. Always unconnect the battery and drain the remaining power in the system if there is any chance of that happening,

Sound like a starter when the selinoid wont kick in like when your battery is almost dead.
Could be a bad crank relay which energizes the selinoid for the starter.
