2.2 Hard start and rough idle no power
2.2 Hard start and rough idle no power
Ok so here it is, I drive my girl down town which is like 10 mins away, everyday so she can get a ride to work with her foreman, and today we go out, get in the car I turn the key, the stupid car turns over like 6 times goes through the cycle and shuts off, no start i pull out the key and try again and starts, with very rough idle and stumbles a bit. CEL light is on and flashing i rev it up slowly, CEL is still on but not flashing, back to idle and flashing again. I take it for a spin around the parking lot and the thing will barealy move with like no power. and the thing is it was working fine everyother day.
does anyone else ever heard of this, it is strange to me I though it maybe my oil cap in wich it maybe losing oil pressure, but no i'm thinking an O2 sensor. and the dealer is closed till tomorrow, and i'll have to get it towed down there.

OK so if i change my plugs, will my light go out or does gm have to reset the CEL cause my car starts so it may not be the coil you can drive it but cannot accel fast, and what would i gap the plugs at. it also has like 45000kms on it.

Oh ****, you're in Canada, replace Autozone with whatever the hell it is up there.

Are you under warranty? Then WHO CARES why it's broke. Bring it in.
A flashing CEL is trying to tell you that bad things are happening. The condition is being seen repeatedly by the CEL and just getting worse. You should stop driving the car. Again, are you under warranty? Good. Park it and have the dealer tow it for free.
If you happen to fix the problem yourself (Are you under warranty? Then why are you fixing it yourself?), the CEL might go away, but the error code will remain stored, and you will want to get it cleared from memory.

Ya I decided that was the best Idea so i called my RS assist and they towed it to GM for free, I just hate my dealer cause they are a bunch of monkeys, but it's a free fix so i'll take it. thanks guys for your input.
had the same problem 3 months ago. Ignition control module went causing cylinders 2 & 4 (or 1 & 3) to misfire, there's a TSB out for it, search the forums and you'll find the full TSB Text.
Call the dealer and then you'll have to call roadside assistance, have them tow it to the dealer and then drive a rental car for 2 days. HAVE FUN!

I got the Car towed to the dealer yesterday and I called them today at 10am to tell them what it was doing, so I waited awhile and phoned again at 3:30pm and they told me the car was fixed and they were waiting on the paper work to get done, and it was the Ing module. But I have the car now and it works again, Man they were fast at fixing the car.
