2010 what the fudge man!!!!

i got 2010 cobalt SS... trifecta tuned... and its falling apart!!!

every time i turn the key to start it, something goes wrong..

sometimes i would hear the starter motor, but it wont crank

sometimes the car just shuts down. first time this happened i thought the black cable on the battery came disconected. checked the trunk. everything was fine. closed the trunk. noticed Guages were moving up and down, tried to turn it on. shuts off again!!!!

happens almost every time.... also my clock gets reset, and AVG MPG gets reset. just like battery got disconected.

Take it to the dealership since it's under warranty then.

Remove the battery pos and neg and retighten the cables on and wiggle the connection as you do it so that you know they are both tightened down.( there was a problem with the neg bolt on older models)
Also check your pcm conmectors are on tight and clipped in.
Theres a 50 amp fuse in the trunk check that its okay as well.
Check ecm ground as well behind the driver head light I think.

LOL, Obvious everything isn't fine, or you wouldn't be having these problems. Something is loose somewhere. If something was broken, the car wouldn't work at all. This is just one of those little things that you just need to figure out.

Either that or take it to the dealership. They won't know it's tuned.

Ignoring the obvious, you stated every rime you turn the key.

The ignition switch could be bad and you have a flaky ign1 voltage, with out the proper diagnostic equipment all you can do is swap things out and guess.

Another thing to look at is the bcm connectors make sure they are seated properly.

Just thought of something another guy on here had similar problems and it was the positive post on the fuse box under the hood was loose or there was something wrong with it.

see if there are any local trifecta dealers to flash your car back and take it to the dealer. There is definitely a faulty connection some where.

but when i put my key in ACC, lights come on. works fine. put it in ON, same story. but once i turn to crank the motor, sometimes i hear TICK TICK then starts to crank, sometimes i hear TICK then everything shuts down, like the ground to battery got disconected, and sometimes nothing happens, engine cranks as normal

might i add this is the second lock cylinder on my car because first one got stuck, had it replaced by dealership under warranty.

Do you have any aftermarket sound equipment? Might want to check all the wiring if you do.

Follow the ground off the battery and check the connection to the car body in the trunk.

your ground connection on your battery might just be coming loose. I'm having that problem as well. all I do it open the trunk, barely move the connection, and it works fine. Does it randomly every few weeks. Never had my car turn off though.

I can't remember if the RPD will come on with the key in the ON position or not but if it does you should check the voltage on one of the screens see if it is under voltage, I think my stayed around 14.7 but I can't remember its been a while since I drove mine

i have been driving around with rpd side screen on voltage... with the engine off?? have not checked, but it should be 12~13. i will check later. but when the car is on, its chilling at 14.1~14.4 idle. and about 14.2~14.5 at around 2k rpm.

so the battery is pretty much charged.. i dont make a lot of short trips. i do sometimes listen to my music after i turn the car off. but no more than 2 minutes...

the battery is fully charged... im going to take it to my friends shop tommorow, and check the battery/diodes

The symptoms your having I've had exactly, it was a loose power connection as described by other people in this thread. I tightened everything (including pushing the fuse into the fuse holder as hard as possible) and it went away.
