2nd gear grind!
when shifting into second gear, if i hold the shifter i get a slight grinding noise, not a loud grind like i changed gear without the clutch all the way in just a suttle continuos grinding, however if i shift into 2nd and then immediatley take my hand off the shifter the noise stops, being this is my 3rd manul car ive owned ive grown used to holding my shifter when im in lower gears so its a hard habbit to break, i beleive i also didnt notice this happening until i installed my hurst shifter, one mod i wish i would have never done but i butchered the stock one so bad while taking it out i couldnt replace it if i wanted to

sounds like when you rest your hand, you are almost pushing it out of gear? as in when in second, putting forward pressure on it as to go to third? cept no clutch action.

not forward pressure, more like holding the shifter in gear so putting pressure down on it, seems like when i put it in 2nd i gotta leave it alone, i cant hold it in 2nd
im gonna put it in 2nd gear and pull the shift linkage forward a little bit, maybe when i installed my shifter i gave it too much room to go further into gear than needed

Trans Problem
Had my trans repaired three times and replaced once. Shift pin problem. You start to notice that it is getting harder to put into gear and the throw of the shifter is further before it engages. Next you notice grinding and it is more difficult to put into gear. Eventually you will notice that trans will no longer go into gear and you are stranded. If you are lucky, the car will be in second gear when it breaks and you can drive home slowly.
Good Luck.
