2nd gear grind everytime

2nd gear grind everytime

i noticed a couple months ago that my 2nd was grinding every now and then. but it just got worse and now it is to the point that it will grind everytime i put it into second. sometimes if i double clutch it works. but i only have 40,000 miles and im not sure if it is the synchros or the linkage cable that needs to be fixed. i was also wondering if this would be under any warranty because my 36,000 mi. warranty is up.

Synchros probally and yes 60k transmission warranty... my car is actually getting the exact same thing fixed right now... It started with 2nd then 4th and reverse went with it

best bet will be to take it in ASAP and hope it doesnt mess anything else up

i dont think i will have a problem. i work at a dealer that used to be chevy and my dad has or like 26 years or something and he will find someone to hook me up.

dude mine was grinding in to fourth gear every once in a while days after we drove it off the lot. once it started doing it constantly we took it in and they "fixed it." so fourth gear was fixed but once i got it back from the dealer something wasn't right with third gear. turns out a couple months later third started do the same exact thing, grinding during a shift. i think it's pretty much a standard problem. the service guy at my dealership told me and my dad that they just don't make good quality manual transmissions anymore. so that if a gear is ground a couple of times it's ruined. my question is who was driving mine for less than 10 miles grinding 4th gear before we drove it off the lot... and who ground in 3rd gear later on...
