when i put in 1st and 5th it stays in it just does it in 3rd and it is also hard to get into 1st and a Bi!(h to get it in reverse. sry if these are dumb ? i am new to cobalts. thanks

what im saying is does third push up to the same height as 1st or 3rd? and 1st sometimes sucks on my car too, these transmissions werent really built with the highest quality parts.
i know you have to left the lock lever for the reverse lol and it does go up as far as the 1st and 5th it seems, there is 46000 miles on the car and i dont know if it was driven hard:/
if its an ss then yes they drove it hard lol step on the clutch all the way down twice and see if it goes into gear easier, or try stepping on on it may times cuz if it does then ur clutch is broken
its is a ss and like it goes into 3rd but it must not go in all the way cause i can put it in 3rd and drive around and i can tap it and it falls into netural but 1st 2nd 4th and 5th dont you cant just slap it into netural
Linkage probably needs adjusted. Its almost impossible to bend a shift fork on the F35 because on the way its set up inside. Had many of them apart and never found a bent shift fork. Syncro could be bad.
