hey guys so I just installed a OttP front mount heat exchanger on my car. I also have dual pass and option b and they are installed according to stages how-to. Just did a pull on my car and my temps got up to 145, so do I have air in the system still?

 

Bleed it.
Check pump if working.

 

What's the best way to bleed it? Take the restricter out of the air bleed line and let it idle a bit?

 

Yea Pump is working , I'm thinking its air, I see the bubbles come out when it's idling and and if I lightly rev it while idling the temps drops fast

 

what size pulley? thats not too bad if youre running a 2.8 or so.

the opt b is supposed to automatically bleed the air if installed correctly though

 

2.9 on a tvs and a ported head

But it's definitely air Ima look into buying some sort of vacuum pump to bleed the air out

 

What was the ambient air temp when you did the pull?? Also what gear did you run it out to in? Whats your limiter set at?

 

80 ish degrees outside a,d I was in 3rd gear.

 

Those aren't terrible temps then.

You can help the Opt. B burp the air faster if you lift the coolant tank up while the car idles.

Ones completely bleed, the opt. b will do the rest of the work for you indefinitely.

what did you pull too ? my iat's dont like the humidity and heat either.

85* and 75% humidity, if i get on it the IAT's shoot through the roof, but they come back down after a few seconds of driving. I hit 195* one time at 140mph .... e85 helps correct that.

 

Only to 120 ish and not on e85 yet

 

Recovery is most important. If they drop back down fast that's a good sign things are functioning correctly.

 

Park the car sideways on a hill with the passenger side higher.
Top off the option B and let the car run.
This always bleed it quickly before me.


Becareful vac bleeding the cooling system; you can suck the seals out of place on the stock radiators and then they leak.

 

Recovery is definitely very fast and didn't know that trick about parking the car on a hill, there are some speed bumps at my job I can try those

 

That should be fine.
Or jack up the pass side a little bit.

My driveway is on a small hill and it was plenty.
