Like a musty smell right? As if a filter was damp and mildewing? Yeah I get that a lot... and more so when it rains/snows. If anyone knows what this is that'd be awesome.

I had a cat pee where the hood and windsheild meet on my old Geo Metro and it always smelled after that. I couldn't get rid of it....

probably because you havent been running it much during the winter.

your supposed to run your AC now and then during the winter just to keep the system from kinda going stagnant.

after long periods of non-use, A/C often smells kinda bad.

try replacing the cabin filter. Or turn on the top vents that blow at you, put on the a/c and put it on recirculate. then spray some air freshener by the floor vents. when its on recirculate it sucks the air from the bottom through the system to the top. also, try it without the recirculate on and spray in the cowl vent on the outside. keep the a/c on high with both of these techniques. thats how we got cigg. smells out of vents at a detail shop. use an aerosol deoderizer. look at autozone.
