acc stays on when i remove key car wont start

hi,

since i unplugged my battery for the first time (had to install my subwoofer) now i have a problem with my accessory staying on when i remove my keys. I have to unplug/replug my battery for my car to start and my accessory to shut off.

the problem come back every 4-6 time i stop the car.
i also have a remote starter that i don't use (i think it doesnt even work for some reason)

anyone know what could be the problem and how to solve this ?????

a guy told me it could be related with my remote starter that have a bypass module to some security system in the car. and by unplugging my battery this unit could have been unprogramed....does this make sense ?

thanks in advance

If this only -just- started happening after you installed a sub and amp... I'd look to that for your solution. What'd you tap into for the amp turn-on signal? Try unplugging that from the amp and seeing if that fixes it.

Well I'd suggest starting there or with your remote start system. I just suggested the most recent addition first.

Narrow down the issue based on the variables. You installed an amp.... Unhook it and see if that fixes the problems. Next, check the remote start.

That happened to me in my old Dodge Shadow,
The key cylinder wore out where it turns the lock/switch assembly inside the colum. Both parts had to be replaced.
I believe the Cobalt may be set up in a simlar manor.
