did you remove the red jumper? when I was hooking mine up the red jumper was still on and it shorts the ignition to ground so that the key doesn't interrupt current flow; thus, the car continues to run when the key and accessories are turned off....

Plus don't hook it up to the pink wire. I'm still having trouble with my interceptor and aeroforce said that 99% of problems come from people connecting the gauge to the pink wire.

The best way to hook this up is by adding a circut/fuse in the fuse panel. You can pick one up at Radio Shack. Just use a slot that turns off when you turn the car off.

The red jumper sounds like a great place to start, also Gestapo, the Cobalt SS/SC doesn't supply power through the OBDII to the Interceptor, the redline does and the TC does though.

So on an SS/SC you need to run a power wire and remove the jumper.

oh god... let me tell you about my tapping the interceptor into the pink wire experience. Get everything wired up and the apillar gauge pod reinstalled and car wouldnt start, then it finally starts when the Ebrake is on, but none of my gauges worked except for the interceptor, so i unwire the interceptor from the boost gauge and everything works fine but my security light stayed on for like an hour...

FYI if you just plug the interceptor into the DLC it will automatically turn off after a few mins of not receiving info from the computer.

EDIT: thats on a SS/TC, i didnt need the power wire, SC is different I see.

I have dual interceptors and an analogic all powered on the pink no problem.

important to note: that, the Aeroforce Add a Circut is useless on our cars from what I can tell. They have it taped and wired out the side, and the only places where they are powered when ignition is on, have relys next to them so you cant fit it in there. Ijust shoved a wire down in the fuse socket with the fuse. Then ran it to a screw that holds a termnal block on to the side of the fuse cover box, Then to the termanals. Have 2 tewrmanls for 12V 2 of 5 and 2 for grounds. Works well for me, Cept you gota disconnet most of the stuff if you want to pen the box though.

I have no problem with mine. The gauge does not need to be powered up unless the igniton is on. JMO.

Weird, maybe it was when they went with the new PCM instead of going to the SS/TC then. I was under the impression it was all SS/SC. Do you have a gauge?

yep

here is a video of me testing a bad guage
interceptor testing skip to about 50 seconds to see the guage work without external power

I also have removed the jumpers (Dual) and my car still does not shut off when I remove the key (Takes about 10 seconds to shut off). And my dash displays "POWER STEERING".

I am tapped into the pink stock boost power wire.

Thoughts?

From everything I have read (ALOT) it looks like the pink wire works for some people but not for others. I have a 2005 SS/SC.

Really frustrated here... any help would be awesome!

You know.. Reading this thread and the one in the LSJ section makes me not want interceptors. I'll put those last on my list. Sounds like a nightmare..

I wouldn't let this keep you from buying them, they are a great way to monitor how your car behaves to all types of modifications. Technically it should be the first thing you get.

I believe there is a right way and a wrong way to hook this up and I think it comes down to more then the year of your car. You just need to find what works.

I am going to buy a fuse tap today to see how that works. I'll posty after.

I looked closely to the instructions that came with my dual interceptors earlier and noticed a difference in what those said and in what the online instructions for my firmware said.

The instructions that came with my interceptors specifically said not to run the power through the pink power wire which powers the stock boost gauge.

I am really hoping that when I run a new power wire from the red wires on the gauges to an empty ACC fuse location that is fixes my issues but I dont see how it could fix the issue of "POWER STEERING" comming up on my dash and my car staying on when my key is out.

Pike

And again, yes I removed the jumpers...
