AFR Issue

Ok, I've been tuned and we've re-tune and checked everything. See mods in my signature, just add on the bottom 3 things I said soon to come.

Car after cruise about 5miles+ will randomly misfire and go super rich. Like my WB won't even tell me the # that it is, just tells me its super rich. Also, sometime accompanied by this is me going WOT and rather than my AFR being the usual .80LAMBDA(E85) it will be .87-.89 for some reason.

Computer shows (Random Cylinder Misfire) No changes in Vacuum, car still drivable, just really rich AFR. Takes about 5 seconds, then goes back to normal. Never spikes lean.

Wondering what could cause this issue??

On top of this could be a separate issue all together, I dunno.

"Sometimes" at WOT, I'll lose all horsepower. Just for like 1/4 of a second. No weird afr changes, no knock, no nothing out of the normal. It's dumb. LOL

Any input my fellow Balters?

BTW, NHanson GTFO!

without seeing the tune or a log it's difficult to tell you exactly what's going on, but I can take a few stabs at it to try to give you a hand.

**Disclaimer** I'm not trash talking your tuner with some of what I am going to say below so do not take it as such. I am simply trying to help diagnose the issue, so please refrain from getting your panties in a bunch!

1) Are you throwing any codes? If so, what are they?

2) Seeing as how this is happening after a few minutes of driving, it seems like your a/f's are going whacky only when the car enters into closed loop. If that's the case then chances are your narrow band (b1s1) o2 sensor is crapping out. Datalog the b1s1 o2 sensor voltage and plot the waveform once in closed loop to see what it looks like. If it's not oscolating back and forth sharply and quick enough, chances are it's no good.

3) I'm also going to take a wild guess and say you're probably running on a purely maf based tune. I could very well be wrong in saying that, because I of course have not seen your tune but if it is, your tuner may want to consider bumping up your dynamic tables up a bit. You'll get a much smoother idle, much smoother throttle transitions while cruising and much cleaner trims running in ve during light cruising.

4) What do your trims look like? If your trims are all sorts of all over the place and the narrow band o2 is indeed working fine then maybe your tuner didn't dial in your maf very well for some reason. With the fact that you are misfiring as much as you are claiming, wild trims will ABSOLUTELY cause this.

Also, .80 lambda is a little on the rich side for e85 to be perfectly honest. You should be shooting for .82-.84 lambda in pe for an lsj. I'm sure your tuner already knows this though..

1) Camshaft Position Sensor, but thats due to motor swap. And Random Misfire(The Issue)

2) The wire on my downstream is frayed, I'm going to replace soon. Could be the issue easily.

3) That not the problem.

4) Trims are spot on.

I wanted rich, to be safe, i'm harsh on my car. LOL
