Canada AIRBAG INDICATOR ALWAYS ON (Can Version)

Hi I just got a cobalt about 2 weeks ago, ss coupe 2.4, I noticed that the airbag indicator is always on and pretty much annoying so I checked the manual and it says there that if its always on, I have to see my dealer. Next day went back to dealer and told me that is natural for 'canadians' version. I am not comfortable about it and would like to ask your opinion if this is true.
Thanks,

Are we talking about the airbag light on the center stack of the dash below the radio?

If so, that is an indicator of how many airbags are currently activated. If there is nobody in the passenger seat, the passenger side airbag is deactivated.

I actually went back twice to get two different person from GM but both of them said the same thing... its normal in Canadian-version, I even quoted what the manual says but they said "its ok"??? that's why I want to ask other owners if this one is normal so I have a basis when I go back there again. At first, my temp. Guide would even stay at 19C but they said to give more time since it still calibrating and true enough it got fixed.

That doesn't sound right to me.

Our Temp gauge does the same thing, it doesn't update very often I think.

I don't believe the SS/SC even has that indicator in the center stack, but on my mom's LS, it's there, and it's always on if someone (or something fairly heavy) is in the passenger seat. It should be off otherwise, but something will always be lit up in that little section. I don't know if there is a manual de-activation or not though.

The dash one should go out. The center console one is supposed to stay on I think.

If the dash one is on, there is a problem.
