So I just bought a 2006 Cobalt SS and the guy only gave me one key, tonight when I got home I opened the trunk and the alarm went off which i didn't think anything of but then later when i unlocked the driver door the alarm also went off. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or how to fix this problem

I had the same issue. A new key helped. But really the only permanent fix was buying a remote from the dealer, which cost around 100 bucks. Worth it though

Sadly, if it was an 07 i could have gotten the remote start function and remote start remote

 

Did the new key stop the alarm from going off?

 

The remote did for sure. The new key half helped
