Another Quick Headlight Question
I have my headlights off my car and im about to paint them, but i cant get the rubber seal and electrical outlet off the main headlight casing. I have disconnected the other lights and have taken the screws out of the casing, but i cant get the rubber seal or plug in out of the main headlight beam. Can anyone who has painted their headlights tell me how?
Heres a pic. Im trying to get the black piece circled on the left off.
bump
c'mon, help me out
So nobody knows????????

twist all of the plastic pieces to the left to unscrew them from the housing, i used pliers for the tiny one thats hard to get to. After you unscrew the plastic one with the bulb in it you can remove the rubber seal easily you just pull

A word of caution Do not touch the bulbs with your hands ,the natural oil off your fingers will create a hot spot on the bulb and reduce the life of them dramatically.
If you do touch them clean them off well so there are no finger prints !

^ ^ Exactly. Use alcohol to clean the bulb.
Lefty loosey... A screwdriver may help with the main headlight by twistiing those hurtful thumb slots with the shaft. But if I was you, I would unhook the bulb from the assembly first. (The blue locking mechanism for the main bulb) Makes it alot simpler. Be careful. Let us know what's up. Don't leave us hangin'!!
