Antifreeze Suggestions

Low antifreeze slid into my dash today. Figured I'd take the time to flush it and clear it and put all new antifreeze in. What's best for LSJ's? I heard Dexcool is very corrosive which is orange. I'm stuck and need opinions or facts. If not, I'll just put green in. But not that 50/50 either way. Help, asap!

Just put dexcool 50/50 in it. Thats what the factory recommends. Also find the leak, coolant doesn't just magically disappear.

Also if you're planning on doing a flush, get a new temp sensor and thermostat (stick with OEM/AC Delco for both)

Use dexcool, and whatever you do, don't mix them. You'll have a mess.

I had low coolant and my engine was burning it through a bad spot on my head gasket. You definitely want to find out where that coolant went.

Dexcool is fine in engines that are designed for it. You just don't want to put it in older engines that were not designed for it.
Our cars require Dexcool

Either brand is fine. Dexcool becomes an issue if it is exposed to air regularly, our coolant system is not exposed to air. So a change every 5years or so and fix any leaks in a timely fashion and there will be no issues.

Since you're talking about an LSJ is it the engine coolant (overflow bottle drivers side) or the heat exchanger fluid (just in front of the supercharger intake side fill T)?

First thing I do when the warning comes on is pull over and take a look. Could be a bad sensor.

Nice! Just an hour from me. Maybe sometime we'll have to plan something. Like going to TOTD or Motorama? I have bunch of buddies down here with Slowbalts. S257 HHR SS, Staged LSJ's, ya know, stuff like that.

My car once told me low coolant. Added a splash literally and it's been fine for years.

Mine has done it once in 9 years. It only has to be low by a few ounces to set it off.

I bought a vacuum bleeder as well for changing coolant out. It's basically required for the Nissan Maxima I have.

The low coolant warning went away. Lol. It doesn't seem to be low in the reservoir at all either.
