Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

Anyone else breaking shifter roll pins??

Anyone else breaking shifter roll pins??

i went to the track last night and i have busted the 2nd roll pin. I need some advice on what else to put in its place. i have already tryed a grade 8 bolt and it just bent any suggestions would be great thanks.

i heard bout this a while ago a few ppl were doing the same thing....an the bolt jus bent as well....no idea what they did..i think they just shifted easier

Try an L43 or a BD.

How exactly do you know you are getting a B8 (different from grade 8)?

its the way some people shift kinda like mashing on the gas pedal, but only on the shifter.

Ooook I see what is happening here. I would order a new one and temper it your self, also known as hardening. Heat that ************ up until it is RED HOT and then all at once quench it in ice cold water. You will lose ductility, but gain strength. In this situation it will not bend, it will break, IF it ever breaks again. Just my $.02

damn i dunno why i break them other than im shifting way to hard. but i havent heard of heating them before

never broken one, and im one to break **** most people break on this site.

generally im an average driver /w awesome clutch skills (never had one fail) with spirited driving every now and again. I dont do tracks.

stop banging through the gears!!!! get a stainless steel bolt 1 1/2in long and size3/16ths with a nyloc nut and that should do it. if the stainless steel breaks then you got some damn gorilla strength in you man. lol
