B&M reverse lockout.....?

Is anybody else having this problem. I put in the B&M shifter last night and for some reason I have to pull up the reverse lockout to put it in 5th gear, does anyone know why?

I think you likely made a mistake. This has never happened to my B&M.

It's a defect in one of the clips. You are not the only person this has happened to. You have to grind it down some.

Here is a small thread with other that had the same problem. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/drivetrain-79/so-am-i-only-one-got-flawed-b-m-shifter-5602/

I figured out why it was makeing me pull up the reverse lock-out, here is the solution for anyone who needs it. The little clips that hold on to the rod, undue them and move the shifter a little bit to the left, then hold it there and hook the clips back on and done, the shifter is moved alittle to the left but no more reverse lock-out for 5th and reverse is alot easier to get into. Also you can adjust both of the clips how ever you want to adjust your shift pattern the way you like it.

The one I got had the lock-out reversed - you needed to pull the ring to get into 1st (lol)...anyway, it must have been made on a Friday at 4:30 pm. My buddy and I just hammered out the shaft pin and turned it 180 degrees and problem solved
