Back brakes

So today i decided to change my back brakes as they were rusted to hell, i went and bought new slotted rotors for the rear and some brake pads that were for my 07 cobalt ss sc and when i went to put them on, my caliper wasnt even close to fitting over them, turns out my car has the base model 06 calipers, can i buy new calipers ment for the supercharged car so that i can have slotted rotors? Is it just a bigger caliper i need or a lot of other parts

for 05-07 cars there is only one set of rear calipers.

what rotors did you get? its possible the rotors you got are for an ss turbo (they use different rear calipers) or your pistons arent screwed in far enough.

Yes, the part that holds the 2 pads didnt even fit on the rotors, before i even tried to put the piston part over it

We went to a&a auto performance store and the non performance store later that day, the first store gave me the rear calipers for 07 cobalt ss 2.0L and they were slotted, not sure the part number but they were rotomax premium rotors. We went to return them later at the other store and brought the caliper part that didnt fit and it ended up taking them 20 minutes to find the right rotor, and they tried 2008 2.4l, 2005-2007 2.0l
And they also tried 08 turbo'd rotars and finaly they tried 06 cobalt like the lowest base model rotors and they fit perfectly, everything else was too big ?

The special unicorn of the base model had disks and they were small (in production numbers and diameter).

The calipers should mount without issue.
