Backfire problem

I see alot of the cobalt family backfiring and shooting some flames. Not that i want my car to specifically shoot flames all the time i do enjoy some backfire here and there. I have a 09 LNF with all the Big turbo upgrades, and zzp straight pipe.... no cats no res. im also tuned on stock turbo for now at 22psi. I have alot of power but very little to no backfire or flames unless im smashing redline... is there something wrong because ive been wondering for so long why car wont backfire.

It's not supposed to if tuned properly that's why it won't. Guys are using a wot box to get that effect. Personally I think it's pretty stupid but everyone has their own thing I guess.

backfiring is caused my extra gas that's not burned in the engine

If you don't have HPTuners you should get it. That way you can also figure out how to change the bounce on the limiter so that it sounds more like a Honda when you hold at redline.
