its a long story when i first bought the car the original battery had a bad cell and then my car wouldnt start so took the car to the dealer and they replaced it and then this **** happened and they r telling me that they think they r going to have to cut the affected area off and replace with one from a junked cobalt

well thats not the reason i bought an optima but its sure a plus to having one lol


and ya, they prob didnt put the vent tube back in.


sue the *******. you could have been killed.

and the resale value of your car is **** now. that could be considered rust damage.

as long as the repair is not gonna show up on the history of the vehicle if someone were to look up the VIN, if they gave me a free rental for the day they are repairing it. and a couple of free oil changes, i wouldnt say anything

Thats why I do my own work for stuff easy like that... Hell... I even replace some of harder to replace stuff just because of my paranoia of the dealership's "Quality" service.

im taking the car in next tues, i also diluted any battery acid that may still be in there so there wont be any more damage then there needs to be

It was recommended to me to get one when I bought the car. There is nothing in the trunk to prevent battery acid from eating away at it if it were to leak.
