Bent valves?
Bent valves?
I'm looking into purchasing a 2005 cobalt ss that the owner tried replacing the timing chain guides he claims and then set the timing wrong and now it won't run. I'm assuming he just bent the valves. Is it cheaper to just buy a used head or to fix the one that's on there? I'm hearing buying a used head is cheaper but I would think just replacing the valves and having it plained would be cheaper
He might now of bent the valves if the timing is still off. If its off more then 1 or 2 teeth the car wont run.
If he bent the valves its easier and cheaper to get a complete head

I think I'm just going to pull the head right away if I buy it just to check it out, I'm assuming he bent the valves since he says there's no compression at all, is it possible that if the valves got bent that the seats or guides got messed up? I'm just wondering why people are saying that getting a used head would be cheaper
