I was working on a poll at the time of your post.... that should narrow things down a little.

What do you mean by "the alignment shop"? They all consider themselves alignment shops... Or you mean a dedicated alignment shop?

This is off their site:

Seems like a good deal if you plan on changing suspension parts or change summer/winter tires or wheels. I might be lowering mine in a few months/next summer..

Firestone's is pretty sweet if you're going to have the car for a few years at least. Especially if you live in a heavy pothole area. Even better when you know someone who works there, who will set it at whatever specs you want, no problem.

depends on how long you're planning on keeping the car, lifetime alignment could be an option just for a peace of mind every couple of months... other than that I'd go to the dealer.

I'm planning to keep the car for at least 1.5-2 years, maybe longer than that... Plus thinking about modifying the suspension next summer, that will require one or two alignments..

I'm leaning towards the lifetime alignment from Firestone...

It's worth it in my eyes. It's also good at any Firestone in the country.

If you are going to own the car long enough to do 3 alignments I'd go to Firestone. If you live somewhere with bad roads or you are doing suspension work a lot that's a great plan.

Any horror stories about Firestone? It seems like it varies greatly from store to store (the quality of worksmanship and customer satisfaction, and the amount of screw ups)... But I guess you could say that about any shop. No place is immune to stupid people.

you are right, no place is immune to back techs. fortunately most places that do alignments have a front end guy do them, and in most cases the front end guy is one of the most senior guys in the shop. so likely you will be in good hands. as for their general techs, i would say stay away unless you know them personally or have a good ref

So I ended up going with lifetime alignment from Firestone.

Figured when I order YYZ v2 springs sometime next year I'd want another alignment. Then when/if I save up more cash for the Konis and take everything apart to install them, I'd take it back so they can make sure it's all put together correctly/still aligned.

By the way, if/when I end up with Koni/YYZ combo, how do I adjust the rear camber? From what it looks like, there's no way to adjust it on the stock setup. Do rear Konis come with an adjustment plate?
