Blow Up
So I started to hear an engine knock about a month ago. I only have 65,000 on my 2.2. I stopped driving it and drove my Jeep knowing that i needed it checked out. So I am driving it to my uncles shop and on the way my engine blew a hole out of the bottom. I am guessing I threw a rod. This is the thing. It's a lease and i am over miles and out of my warranty. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or is anyone selling their 2.2 engine? I changed my oil regularly and i used royal purple. I just don't know how this happened. I've replaced the trans last year too. The 2nd gear synchronizer went on me. Has this ever happened to anyone here?

I thought all leases came with the extended warranty? At a minimum you have the 100K powertrain warranty.
Also I hope you have all your records and that your oil condition was alright at the time.

Is Royal Purple even an approved oil? I'm not so sure it is...
