blowing speakers

I've got the 06 2.4 SS with the 7-speaker Pioneer system and shortly after I bought the car over a year ago, I noticed one of the 6x9's crapping out. I didn't care so much since I figured eventually I'd replace the audio system someday soon. However, recently, I've noticed my driver side front 6" speaker crapping out.

So, my question is, do I have a dud system? Am I pushing it too hard everyday? Or is something like closing my car door killing my speaker?

I do like my stereo loud all the time and the car door closing thing comes from my mom's 02 Camaro's front speakers crapping out in the same matter.

Any thoughts?

I have the same setup and my passenger side door speaker rattles when I listen to talk radio a lot.

It drives me nuts but I don't think it's really blown.

I would assume speakers would be under the warranty? I'm not sure though

Speakers should be under warranty. I've replaced one of mine before. The odd part about blowing them with the factory amp is I have a Rockford Fosgate Power T5002 goin to my factory speakers pushing over 250 watts to each speaker and it didn't blow them. I ran that set up for over 2 years and everything is still fine.

if you are running 6x9 speakers for bass odds are they will blow.. really quick.. they are designed for mid and high range.. if you want low deep bass that is what subwoofers are for.. also factory speakers are not designed to handle a lot of power hense the 30-50w factory head units, and cheap 200w amps..

Most people dont realize that it's not the power that blows the speakers but distorsion. I used a crossover and an amp that wasn't cheap. The factory speakers can handle more power than expected.

i'm pretty sure they're still under warranty, but i'm wondering if it's worth it to get GM to replace them if I'm just going to replace them myself.

and for those thinking this is my fault for the way i set it up or talking about stock speakers:
I have the 7 speaker Pioneer system, came with the car, but not quite "stock."
My system came with the car, Pioneer set up what speakers use which frequencies and so on.

So back on topic, I suppose, my speakers are just rattling, not so much blown, but it's still annoying.
