blown engine or cat?
I apologize for being cocky about it, but these are your words:
And now you say:
Remember, I have been doing this for a while, and I don't say that to make it sound I like know all. But I do know better then most. You changed the spark plugs. Why? Was the car running normally before hand or not? The biggest reason I see people on this site break their cars is because they do unnecessary or foolish things to the car without a reason. And then go forward with some kind of repair without knowning how to do it. Then the car gets worse. Then they post on a web site looking for help and because of pride try not to reveal what really happened. It's like an episode of "House".
Your car is now smoking oil because of 2 possible reasons. The broken end of the spark plug damaged a piston ring, or the WD40 washed the oil off the cylinder wall, which damaged a piston ring.
Now you DO have to do a compression test. You have no other option. I would get that cylinder boreoscoped to determine if the damage to the top of the piston is within operational tolerance.
Here is my incredibly simple advice to the majority of the people on this site. If it ain't broke, don't **** with it. And if it is broke, don't try to fix it unless you or someone helping you knows exactly how to.

[QUOTE=Dainslaif;3307090]Oil on plugs usually means piston ring failure (which people refer to as a blown engine). Do you ever get tired of being condescending and wrong, Adam?
I'm sorry I must have missed the part where he said there was oil on the plugs. I remember him saying the first three were black and smelled fuel soaked. If I missed the oil part it was truely an honest mistake and I'll just excuse myself from this thread, untill then stop being an *******. We're all just trying to help the guy out.

I rant he same plugs in my talon for about 2 days until i found out they where about the worst thing you could run in f/i cars, And that exact thing could happen, They cant take the heat and melt. Just use some copper NGKs , I wish i would have found this thread sooner and i would have guessed what it was.
Do a compression test and wouldnt hurt to do a leak down test to, If everything is good throw some NGK's in there and see what happens

In your defense he didn't mention oil on the plugs until after your last post, but aside from repeating the recommendation of a compression test, your posts have been nothing but mocking other people's valid theories. Feel free to disagree with people, but try not to be a jackass in the process.
I think if more people on this forum would just swallow their pride sometimes and admit when they're wrong everything would be alot more prodcutive when you're trying to get help. (myself included)

His plug hole threads are shot tho....
I'd scan the computer for other codes with a reader before replacing the plugs and tearing the motor apart. That hasn't been suggested. Use ZEX Plugs next time. +4 Bousch sucks. I had them in a cavailer. pure garbage.
That Rant was not called for!!!
I will tell you how it happened.
He changed the spark plugs, then the engine broke.
There is no rocket science here.
Why did you change the plugs the first place? Did you use the right kind? You cross threaded it installing it, you damaged the piston. You used D on a spark plug (which destroyed engine oil). Your engine is probably damaged significantly at this point, I would get some additional help before trying to put it back together again.

He did not cross thread his plug,The last threads had metal on them and when he turned it out it took the threads with it.As for spraying Wd40 on the plug,It doesn't go into the engine oil while you are trying to get the plug out.
His engine might not be damaged to bad only a compression test will tell,I think the cat wont last long after pouring that much raw gas into it.
So I know who isn't the rocket science.
You being a moderator should not be judgmental and I would like to know how you got the job given to you by Administrator.
That Guy just wanted some advice and opinions from someone and doesn't need to be put down by a guy like you.
Have the admin pm me he must be your buddy. so I know you will tell him about this post before he sees it.
i used the right plugs buddy, i compared the two when i changed them, i changed them because the car was running like crap. it kept running like crap and one day the check engine light started blinking but would only do it in higher gears. my guess is the misfiring blew the end of it off. what caused the misfiring is beyond me and it will have to be opened up to actually tell what happend. many things could have caused this. i did not cross thread the plugs, i tightened it with my fingered then torqued it once it was already threaded through. there was melted aluminum at the end of the plug where it got blown off, thats what caused it to strip out. i love ******** that act like they know all.
oh and if you really think that i care about the oil at this point your crazy. besides i barely sprayed it and the most that would do is make it smoke for a second when it first started.

I would like to know how he became a moderator?

i had a lack of power problem with mine, that was the cat getting pluged up but it didnt sound anything like that, it did made a loud pop like a back fire then started missing and wouldnt run past 6o mph, i took it to the dealer (under waranty) they put a cat on it and ive not had a problem since (2 years)
I'm sorry you think that way. I don't know what your involvement here might be other then to soapbox a bit. If you actually care, you will see that I asked him if the car was fine before he changed the plugs, and he said yes (as I qouted above). After that, there wasn't much left to understand.
