Blown motor guys...

Guys with the blown motors, when it popped, did the car keep running? If not, when restarted did it idle?

I was just going down the road, 2nd at about 4500-5250RPMs and it shut off, RPM went to 0. No power reduced, no check engine light. Nothing. Pulled over tried restarting, won't idle. Cranks over fine, won't idle at all, not even with the gas.

My first thought was blown motor. Second thoughts now are crankshaft or camshafts sensors. I read a while back if they go the car won't idle. Maybe i'm wrong or something.

Car seems fine now. I still want to do a compression test one of these days. Who knows. Freak PCM accident?

Its fine now. I went back a half hour later and it started right up, like it never happened.

I think the PCM had a freak accident.

Some more information to gather thoughts. I haven't had a misfire in forever. I don't take the car over 6000 RPM (2.8" on stage 2 tune and injectors), and if I do it is for barely a 1/2 second. No check engine lights besides the 1st week I had the car(Crankshaft Position Sensor Malfunction) and even then the car ran beautiful and started perfectly.

Anyone think the PCM just had an accident?

Yea if it happens again it's going in asap. For now, I think i'll just do a compression test.

There was no coolant in oil and vice versa.

I also thought the JB weld inside the SC silencer holes popped and got sucked in. Thank god it didnt happen. I think i'll be taking the blower off and dremeling the **** out. I don't need it ruining my motor.

Ok, What? Where did you put JB weld that it could be sucked into the engine? And why?

Underside of the blower, 2 bleeder holes. Fill them in and the SC is much louder. Cobra and Lightning drivers do it for many a miles with no problems.

CRANKSHAFT SENSOR

CRANKSHAFT SENSOR

CRANKSHAFT SENSOR

Exact same thing happened to me with just 1500 miles on the car, and peeps on this forum told me what it was.

Trip to the dealer confirmed it.

Sensor was replaced under warranty (but it took a few days for them to get the part).

Because it wants to! And what the Supercharger wants, the Supercharger gets.

LOL

Seriously though, there aren't "so many problems" with the SS/SC.

Simply get the crankshaft sensor replaced, and we're doing just fine!

I thought the crank sensor as well. I had a code at 260 miles for the sensor. They reflashed and it never came back. It is running perfectly well again and until it happens again it won't go in to the dealer.

The car was only about 160* degrees. WOT in 1st, tiny clutch slip into 2nd followed by a chirp and then bang, off it went.

A crankshaft sensor CAN NOT be fixed by a "reflash". It must be replaced.

Seems like all the dealer did was just remove the Check Engine light.

The Service Dept. at my dealership would not even let me drive my car home until the part came in, because they said it could go again at any time.

You might want to try another dealer ...

i had a freak incident once. it died out on me, then wouldn't crank over. i pushed it to the side of the road, and tried again. started right up.. and i had no problems after that. only thing i could come up with is that maybe one of the pcm connections was not fully connected.

Mine wouldn't turn over for almost 10 minutes. I was ready to call for a tow truck when I decided to try it one more time, and then it started up/ran fine.

Crankshaft Sensor replaced .....

Mine didn't turn over for 10 minutes and when it would try, the car would shake terribly. Called Onstar and they sent out a truck. 30 minutes later I tried one last time and it fired up perfectly.
