body control module

I believe a bump on the expressway has done some damage to my car. When I hit this bump; it shut off my car. It restarted right away but I lost my headlights. My day time running lights also went away. Replaced both headlights to no avail. Shop initially said my multifunction switch went bad but that didn't fix it. They said the next thing is the body control module. But it has to be programmed by the dealership. has anyone had this happen before? How much am I looking at?

Are you sure the headlight relay in the fuse box is not the issue?

I have been battling similar electrical problems for years. Currently my headlights do not work either. I have had car shutting off, no crank, etc. every time I have these issues I take apart my fuse block under my hood and reassemble and they go away for months or years then resurface. At times I have believed it to be bump or wheel hop related. Also, bad grounds or poor connections at fuse block. Check for burned up relays.

I put in a new fuse block today under the hood and it seems to have fixed the problem that we both were haveing. Also, cleaned all grounds.

All interior lights work. The only things I notice that don't work are lo beams and DRL's. When I lock or unlock my doors the horn doesn't honk very well (it kinda barely honks). and the rear defrost seems to have gone out. Light comes on on the ac unit but no action. Relay's and fuses are all good. Continuity and ground all seem to be good.

usually if the bcm isn't working nothing in the interior works and it won't crank.

It's not the bcm. I had the horn issue too and rear defrost. Try shaking your fuse box while trying to operate circuits.
