Brake Fluid Change

So I went to Mr. Tore and they are telling me my brake fluid is bad. WTF. Never heard of changing brake fluid but what do you think. They said it gets Copper in the lines and starts making the brakes bad? Should I listen to those guys?

Brake fluid goes bad, it's a wear item. If you have a 2010 with low miles, be weary. If it's older or high milage, if could very well need to have it changed.

Yes. Definitely.

You drive your car MUCH harder than I do, and you should have seen my brake fluid at 45,000 miles....

Don't forget, brake fluid does pick up a lot of heat from your brakes, even though it's just hydraulic fluid, it does wear out with time and does need to be changed for the best performance and life of your brakes.

^^^ This, plus it picks up moisture from the air (even that little bit that gets into the resevoir) and water boils at a much lower temperature than brake fluid.

Water in the fluid, a bit of hard braking, and it feels like your stepping on a sponge as your car hurtles off the edge of the track, brakeless

Brake fluid is very hydroscopic, meaning it picks up tons of moisture. Most places recommend you replace your brake fluid every two years.

I just did mine at 60k miles. Everything i drained looked like sludge. It's actually a simple procedure to do yourself but it's freaking messy and time consuming to when refilling/bleeding. They aren't jerking you around.
