Angry Brake Pad!!

Alright so tonight we put on my new rotors and pads which by the way turned out awesome. But after jacking up the car and taking all the tires off we went to work on the first drivers side to come to find out this.....

My brake pad had came apart. As you can see in the pics that the pad came right apart with the bracket still in place with the rest of the pad just sitting on the rotor. How long was this like this??? I have no clue. Never realized it before and probalt didnt pay attention to it all the times i have had my tires off. Now I havent took my calipers off or any brake work since ive owned my car. I have put 24k on it so far. Well here is a pic of the pad off the caliper...

So im glad i finally upgraded my brakes to new rotors and pads.
