Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

Exclamation brakes F***** up help!!!!

my brakes are making lots of noise not squeeling but like idk how to explain my back rotors are really grovved up with lots of bumps should i wait a little to see if the noise goes away and if the noise is coming from the front but the backs are really messsed up then whats messed up. and should this be under warrenty almost sounds like a train slowing down not the skretching noise but woosh woosh woosh woosh

i just made a similar post about my brakes being warped up front.........an answer would be nice

If you're having issues, TAKE IT TO THE DEALER!

That is what your warranty is for....

The groves and noise are probably from the wear indicators on the pads.

the noise is now when i brake and when im driving it sounds like when you machine rotors like a grinding noise when im driving tooooo!

where can i buy aftermarket rotors on the net whats the best for our cars

Like ReignSS said, take it to the dealer. There is a known issue with the rear disc brakes on the 09's, maybe on the 08's too.

yea im taking mine to the dealer in 15mins they just ordered me new front rotors and said their was some kind of recall or something on them and they are replacing them for free

ill be so happy if they do it for free but im afraid that they wont cause they always try to dick me around if they dont im going to a different dealer lol

yea i didnt even ask he said he looked it up and found out that there was something wrong and said they will replace them so i was like yea not going to refuse new rotors haha

My back rotors when there damp in the slightess way make a loud obnoxious noise.

Mine too

First thing in morning, sounds like metal on metal. One stop and they go back to normal.

Your pads are worn out. The squealing noise is the wear indicators contacting the rotor to let you know the pads are getting near the end of their life.. The grinding noise and the grooves are the result of not replacing them when they are worn out and the bare backing plates are cutting up your rotors.

From what I have seen lately in my local area, the rear pads on the 08's are crap and are wearing out within the first couple months of driving. The rear pads wear quickly on all the cobalts with rear disc, but the 08 models seem to go before it's time for the second oil change.

i had the same issue........at 19k they refused to do anything about my warped rotors.......got my front rotors cut and cleaned, rear drums adjusted and cleaned today......total cost to me 120 bucks eh w-e

however, they also discovered my passenger front wheel bearing is shot.........now that GM will cover but i have to wait until wednesday to get it done :-(
