Broken Door Handle!

Say hypothetically: we had an ice storm last night... and afterwards I opened my drivers side door slowly and carefully just fine. Then shortly afterwards I proceded to attempt to open my passenger door all that happened was it broke...

It didn't break off completely but the hinge towards the front of the car broke off. If one was to wait a few days for the ice and snow to clear up, could they some how manage to claim in under warrenty? The 36k bumper to bumper warrenty

All hypothetically speaking

Prolly wont help you.. didnt help me at all.. just pull on the black piece and the door will open.. I did that for over 6 months..

Basically I closed my door after I locked it and realized .00005 seconds too late after the door latched and so my instinct was to try to keep the door from latching and when I did the handle snapped off

I can still open it fine, and could prolly epoxy the hinge back on so it would work, but dealer work will be better and replace the offending piece

What I did to buy me some time was get the black and white epoxy you mix together to make grey goo.. when you get it mixed up stick them together.. but it will break again I promise.. I did that three or four times before I finally broke down and got it fixed.

Just didn't know the chances of them saying "You broke it because you abused it."

They told me that since it wasnt the fault of the car that they wouldnt cover it.. I mean it wont hurt to try to get them to fix it but with my personal experience with the same it did me no good..

Do you have comprehensive coverage? My copay is only 50 bucks.. will likely run you 125 or so to get it fixed at a shop

Didn't even think of comprehensive coverage! Genius... but my copay for that is ~250 I think... Probably would be better out of pocket if it only ends up being 125
